I’ll admit it, I am a makeup junkie. I get a rush from buying new make up, whether it be drug storeDrug Store Makeup Favorites Pin makeup or a trip to Sephora. It can completely change how I look by emphasizing what I like, downplaying what I don’t, and giving an over all glow. I love super done up, over the top makeup and subtle, understated makeup.  Mostly though, I absolutely love the creativity it takes to be really good at makeup application. It is like art on your face.

After lots and lots of trial and error, I’ve rounded up my favorite drug store makeup products and created a list of affordable, high quality items.  A lot of these Drug Store Makeup favorites are from the same brands, so you may see a trend.  Enjoy!

Primer:

L’Oreal Infalliable Mattifying Base

This primer is amazing. It keeps your foundation totally matte and locks in your foundation for hours.

ELF Poreless Face Primer

ELF has some incredible products and this primer is no exception. I think it makes a great dupe for Smashbox’s primer. It creates a poreless finish, giving a smooth, perfect complexion.

 

Concealer:

ELF Undereye Concealer and Highlighter

This dual ended concealer packs a lot of punch. It has a bit more of a sheer finish to it, so it won’t cover super dark areas, but it covers my under eye circles with no problem. One end is concealer with a sponge applicator wand, and the other side is a matching liquid highlighter. It layers wonderfully over the next concealer.

ELF Corrective Concealer

This quad is perfect for color correction. It has all the colors you need. Green to cover your reds, yellow to cover your purples, etc. It has a thicker consistency so it won’t move once you put it on.

Foundation:

L’Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Makeup

This is a great, light weight foundation that has a sunscreen in it. It’s super versatile and can be layered for a fuller coverage.

L’Oreal Infalliable Pro-Matte Foundation

This matte finish foundation lasts forever. I’ve forgotten to take it off before bed and have woken up looking like I just did my make up. If you need something that is apocalypse proof, this is what you need.

Powder:

L’Oreal True Match Super-Blendable Powder

On a daily basis, I wear this alone. It gives a super light coverage, evening out any redness I may have, but leaving my skin looking fresh. I also use it over my foundation. It never feels too heavy either way.

ELF Tone Correcting Powder

This guy is super sheer, but works really hard to balance my skin. I can swirl it all together on my brush to balance everything out and give my skin a beautiful filtered look or I can focus on a particular color to correct any issue I may have.

Contour:

ELF Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder- FIJI Matte

This product comes in three different colors, but for contouring I only like it in FIJI Matte. The other colors have a bit of shimmer to the bronzer.

 

Blush:

ELF Blush Quad

This powder blush palette has four versatile shades, perfect for using year round. It is a nice, light, pressed powder formula that applies evenly.

Highligher:

For The Eyes:

ELF Instant Lift Brow Pencil

This is a great dupe for Anastasia brow pencils. It stays where you put it and is easily brushable to avoid any hard lines.

ELF Eyebrow Kit

This kit comes with a pomade and a pressed brow powder. The little brush it comes with has a fluffy brush end for the powder and a angled brush to sculpt your brows. I’ve also used this as a eye shadow/eye liner to create a blown out smokey eye in a pinch!

Shadow:

NYX Lid Lingerie Palette

I bet you thought I was going to talk about ELF forever, didn’t you? Well, surprise!  NYX has some of the smoothest shadows I’ve tried from the drug store. This specific palette is a great neutral day time palette.

Maybelline The Nudes Palette

Another palette based around nude colors, this baby has a few of the darker colors that are missing from the Lid Lingerie above. Maybelline has great eye shadows and they have a lot of color variety!

Liner:

Wet n Wild Megalast Retractable Liner

Searching for an eye liner that is truly as black as possible is not as easy as it seems. This fits the bill though. It also stays on forever and hardly moves.

Mascara:

Covergirl The Super Sizer Fibers

Excelling in both volume and length, this mascara gives you super va va voom lashes.

Maybelline The Colossal Volum’Express

The Colossal Volume is no joke. This puffs up lashes and gives you a “three pairs of falsies” look.

Lips:

NYX Velvet Matte Lipstick

Regardless of the color, this lipstick is smooth, matte, and feels so soft on the lips. It really does give them a velvetty look.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

These are soft and creamy lippies that smell delicious.
